Medicare Plan Part D is a wonderful add-on to a regular Medicare Plan – it covers the cost of prescription drugs and in the bargain, soothes your blood pressure and saves you money. Speaking of prescription drugs and blood pressure, do you seniors know how blood pressure medication works? If you don't, read this:
- Ace Inhibitors are a class of blood pressure pills that widen the blood vessels sending rivers of blood flowing into them, which means that chances are high that your organ will equal a horse's after a few years of using these pills. No, that doesn't give you permission to get cozy with mares! But, if you're on ace inhibitors, you may as well start an organ appreciation club in your neighborhood.
- Alpha Blockers are another class of blood pressure pills that massage and relax the blood vessel tissue, in Bangkok style, and help the blood flow smoothly. However, alpha-blockers have 2 main disadvantages – they give you breast pain and constipation, and that's something you have to deal with, because you don't want to be in a heaty, lusty session and yell, "Yaah! Did you have to tickle my nipples now, you #$%^? There goes my love drive!" or, "Darling, Can I use your restroom as I feel the laxatives are taking effect RIGHT NOW. Damn those alpha blockers!"
- The next class of blood pressure pills is beta-blockers. One line: Beta-blockers kill your love life by decreasing intimate desire. "Darling, your organ just grew wings and flew away like a butterfly! Shucks, now I have to look for some other man!" are some dialogues you are likely to hear if you're on beta-blockers for a long period of time.
- Then there are diuretics that exhort your kidneys to throw out more fluids from your body, thereby decreasing the levels of sodium in your blood. If you're on diuretics, you won't know whether to make love or head for the urinal – diuretics make you pee-pee so much! One fun side effect of diuretics is that your skin might turn yellow after prolonged use – then you can start off a fashion fad by hyping up your new skin color the same way they hype up tattoos.
That was about blood pressure medication, and the best thing about it was that Medicare Plan Part D covers all classes of blood pressure medication! So, relax!
